Blue Alcove Counseling
I’m thinking about therapy but…
-
Therapy is for those with mental health issues.
Everyone goes through a rut in life - a divorce, a career slump, a miscarriage, a loss, not knowing what to do next, etc. Therapy benefits everyone. You do not need a mental health diagnosis to be in therapy.
-
You will tell me what to do, right...?
Contrary to what most people believe, therapists do not give life advice. Instead, we sit down and work with you through what you’re going through and work together to make a plan that’s best for you. Each treatment will start with goals and we will work towards those goals. You’re the captain of your ship.
-
Is therapy is expensive?
Therapy is covered by insurance. You can find insurances that our practice accepts on our About Us page. Most people usually have a co-pay. If finances are an issue but you are in need of therapy, please contact us directly to work out a sliding scale fee or see if we have other resources for you.
-
Medications are provided right...?
Medications are prescribed by Board Certified Psychiatrist or Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners. We do not have a prescriber. However, should you need a prescriber while in treatment, we will recommend one for you.
